You don’t have to come to my professional studio in Tennessee – and you don’t even need to live in the United States! You can get the best training, and singing tips when you welcome us into your home through your computer screen. I work with free and easy tools for students to access and receive online voice lessons. Even many students who live close enough to drive to my professional recording studio opt for virtual singing lessons because of the convenience factor paired with the high-quality lessons we provide. IN-PERSON There are a lot of different vocal coaches and methodologies out there, and I know this. I am very protective of any student that comes through my door in person or online. I know how vulnerable a feeling it is to entrust your voice to someone else. I carefully design my coaching based on a multitude of factors in my students'. I have a heart for other singers and I look for qualities in my students like charisma, work ethic, drive, passion, the ability to easily understand the methods being taught, creative prowess, diversity, and undeniable passion for music which are just a few. No matter if you are a beginner or have ever been told you can't sing, I'm here to tell you that it is not true! Every great singer started somewhere. They weren't just born with a "golden voice". They may have had some God-given talent at the start BUT... they still had to hone and craft their skills to get better and that is where a great vocal coach comes in. Trust me, every professional singer who is on top of their game still takes vocal lessons. It's a MUST! Why? Because no matter how talented they might be, there will be some issues that can arise and a vocal coach is what you need to get you through them and correct anything that may be going wrong with your voice. You’re home now. RECORDING STUDIO PROGRAM This program will teach you how to record just like a professional recording artist. I take you from the beginning stages of the recording process, picking the song, proper breathing, placements, song style. diction, mixing, tuning, and so much more that is applied in the methods taught. Students who have social media accounts can also share their work within their own social media. This is a great program that no other vocal coaching program offers. I show the student exactly how their voice is responding to the song they are performing and recording. I pinpoint any issues that need to be resolved and fix them on the spot by showing the student proper placements of notes they are singing, where to breathe, the enunciation of the lyrics being sung, plus stylistically and artistically how to capture the essence of the song through a command performance each and every time. This program will not only help shape a singer's career but give them the "Jump Start" they need to be able to handle any studio recording situation. This is one of the most popular programs that I offer and it is recommended that you go through our Online or Private lessons first before starting at this level. ARTIST DEVELOPMENT The first order of business in Artist Development is the music itself. Good songs are not good enough when you are preparing to market your music. People only respond to what they feel are great songs Your songs must have some commercial appeal, if only to a certain music niche. (Folk, Hip Hop, Alternative Rock, New Age, Jazz, Blues, etc.) Finding that niche, and learning how to manage its growth is essential to becoming a successful act. Artist Development is also about protecting the great songs by registering them with the copyright office. Songwriters and music publishing companies need to affiliate with the Performance Rights Associations (ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC) as well so that if and when those songs are played by the broadcasting industry, or in certain public places, they will receive proper payment for the uses of those songs. This can sometimes be a confusing and frustrating task. I will walk you through this and other processes to streamline and clarify the necessary steps that need to be taken to get it done right the first time. One of the most delicate issues involved with Artist Development is the matter of creating and consistently maintaining a clear and honest image. What people hear in your music must be seen in how your dress on-stage, and can help or hurt you when you create promotional materials and artwork for your CDs, etc. As your coach I will help weave a thread of consistency with your chosen image throughout your website, social media, and all other aspects of music marketing. Artist Development as you can see is a combination of creative and business issues that must be dealt with to make your music, and the business surrounding your music, run smoothly. You landed the role, you got the callback, you booked the gig, you’re on the show! Now, how do you leave your audience, casting director or producer spellbound not just by your voice…but by your performance as a whole? Two words: Performance Coaching! This is the secret sauce that keeps everyone coming back for more, that all elusive “it” factor you see oozing out of your favorite performers when they take to the stage. What you don’t know is that it can be taught, and you can have it too! Performance coaching takes the capabilities you have and teaches you how to capitalize on them in real-time during any performance. My performers are put through their paces in every session, making sure our singers can work the stage and even dance while singing, engage the audience by creating memorable moments, properly express through facial expressions, hand and body gestures, conversing with the audience, wardrobe, and much more. We also teach our singers how to be a flexible performer. Without a doubt, unplanned things can happen when on any stage and we ensure vocalists are prepared to go on with the show regardless of anything unexpected that may come their way. Success in the music business is all about standing out consistently. Having a healthy outlook and the right mindset is a great starting point for any performer no matter if you are a singer, musician, or in a theatrical production.
