Experienced music teacher with nearly 10 years experience teaching students of all ages and abilities from beginner to advanced. I also have experience teaching music to students with special needs, including autism and total vision impairment. I begin accepting students at age 4 and teach students up to age 99+. With lessons from me, you'll learn to read music, develop your ear for hearing music (ear training), music theory, and technique with a goal of getting you playing your favorite style of music in the quickest time possible. I can teach you to play whatever style you wish. I can even help you learn to compose your own music! To accomplish that, I use a variety of learning aids and games to assist you in learning to read music and understand the deeper concepts of music theory. I incorporate the use of rhythm and percussion instruments to help you learn and understand the more complicated rhythms of music. I taylor my teaching style to each individual student's needs, learning ...

About Elizabeth

I grew up in a musical family. My mother was a piano teacher for 20 years, and my father could play any instrument he decided to pick up. From as young as I can remember, music was always surrounding me. I came to love it in all its forms and styles. I began playing piano when I was a little girl,

Elizabeth is just the teacher to get your music journey off to a great start! Despite my stiff old hands, she had me playing up to speed and showing steady progress in no time. She has the requisite insights and patience to guide any serious student along the road to improvement. Highly recommended!

A great teacher, Elizabeth always makes sure that her student understands a concept and will come up with explanations and tools to help a student better grasp it. She is patient, and explains things in very easy to understand while also making the lessons enjoyable and lighthearted.

Get ready for a truly rich and rewarding experience. Maria studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Viktor Merzhanov. She is a 4th-generation pupil of Franz Liszt and 6th-generation of Beethoven. She was one of the fortunate few (Garrick Ohlsson among them) to study with Roberto Eyzaguirre, who was a student and friend of Claudio Arrau, one of the 20th-century's greatest pianists. Arrau studied with Martin Krause, who was one of Franz Liszt's final pupils. Liszt was taught by Carl Czerny. And Beethoven was Czerny's teacher. Through this great lineage, learn an incredible technique that will enable you to play the music of your dreams!

"I am very fortunate to have found Maria. I went through 3 other instructors, all claiming to have their own patented method of teaching piano, but all of them left me frustrated and without clear direction. Maria understands the necessary path. She enlightens and inspires me every week with the timeless beauty of piano. With her by my side, I believe I can realize my dream."

Maria is a wonderful teacher! She is kind, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. I've made great progress already under her tutelage, and feel grateful that she is my teacher. I would recommend her for anyone trying to learn piano, even if you're starting from scratch like I did!

Will was everything I expected. I was looking for someone to teach naturally as opposed to rote (boring) learning. I'm sure Will can do rote but he did what I asked.

He really knows his music and can teach in a way that gets my son directly into actually playing music, which is exactly what I was after.

He’s really flexible and can take anything and turn it into something good.

The pace was spot-on, matching perfectly the maximum my son could understand at the time.

I think my son learnt the absolute maximum he could in that short space of time and he learned a LOT.

Zaid is knowledgeable and dedicated instructor. He has taught my daughter for at least two years who had no experience and I feel that she has progressed faster than I think she would have at any typical music place.
The organization, and structure of the lessons are well planned and easy to follow.

I love and encourage creativity in my students. I have studied music for over 15 years and am well-versed in theory, performance and songwriting. I craft my lessons around what the individual student wants, but one thing all my lessons have in common is that you will be able to learn a lot, and do so in a laid-back environment.
