Hi, my name is Jeff. I received my Bachelors' in Music from Cal State Los Angeles and have taught music for over 30 years. I've played with the Drifters, Tower of Power, Brenda White, and Bobby Bradford. I have lead bands that have included alumni from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jerry Lee Lewis, Count Basie, Chaka Khan, Smokey Robinson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, the Temptations, Gladys Knight, Foreigner, Harry James, Joe Sample and the Jazz Crusaders, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Yanni and even Englebert Humperdink! I teach in a wide variety of styles and have the experience and knowledge from my years of teaching and performing to greatly increase your knowledge about music and greatly improve your technique. *** Lesson Details *** I cater my lessons to the want and needs of the individual student. From all my years of teaching I've become a human jukebox and if I don't know a song that you would like to learn, I can figure it out for you note for note if you bring in the song on CD, iPod or anything else. Some students just want to play for their friends, family, church etc. and others want to learn how to improvise solos and learn a wide variety of styles. Whether it's rock, pop, jazz, blues, gospel, country or folk music I can and will teach you every scale, mode and chord known to mankind if that's what you need! It all depends on what YOU want to learn! *** Studio Equipment *** I have a fender mandolin, yamaha electric bass, taylor acoustic guitar, a fender stratocaster and telecaster, a gibson blues-hawk, a guild hollow-body electric, a hohner classical-electric guitar a music man amp, and a wurlitzer electric piano. i will expect you to bring your instrument but everything else will be here at the studio. *** Travel Equipment *** Instrument and music stand. *** Specialties *** I cater my lessons to my students' needs. I mainly teach rock, blues, jazz, pop, folk, and country,

Jeff is a phenomenal teacher! I took up guitar lessons at 41, and was nervous I'm too old to learn a new instrument, but I found out with Jeff as my teacher, anything is possible! Ive been taking lessons from Jeff for a couple of years and can't believe how far I've come. He is a master at his craft and teaching his craft. His teaching style is encouraging and effective. He is very patient with beginners and knows exactly where your strengths and weaknesses are and how to work with them. He makes learning fun and helps ease the anxiety and frustration of being a beginner at the guitar. Aside from his teaching style, he is a genius musician with an encyclopedia knowledge of music and I love talking to him about music. I highly recommend Jeff if looking for an amazing guitar teacher!

I've been taking lessons from Jeff for a few years now, and my guitar playing has improved dramatically since I started. We've been primarily working on blues, jazz, and pop music inspired by blues & jazz (think Carole King or Santana or Classics IV). The new songs he introduces are always pushing me to getting more comfortable with chord changes, soloing over key changes, or various techniques. I'm actually starting to feel comfortable soloing over new songs, which I wasn't expecting to get to anytime soon. Jeff is also a very friendly guy and easy to learn from. He's genuinely excited about teaching and watching students learn new skills, which helps me want to get better.
