After graduating Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, I began teaching private piano and voice lessons. I grew up with a strong background in classical piano, but have a love for all music and performance. In my free time, I enjoy writing original music and gigging. In my lessons, I try to incorporate every aspect of my own learning and bring my students the joy of music while having fun. I use a combination of my knowledge of classical piano training, as well as contemporary and jazz. Sight reading is equally a part of my lessons as is theory and ear training. If you are looking to play Beethoven, transcribe a song off the radio, or learn how to write your own music, I can help!

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Janine and I am a professional pianist, vocalist and songwriter. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music.
I teach piano and vocal lessons to all ages and varying styles. I have a background in classical piano, but have a passion for all music. Some of my favorite artists include Emily King, Lianne La Havas, Fleetwood Mac, Robert Glasper, Stevie Wonder, Hayley Williams and Heart. I have gigged full-time as a vocalist and keys player for the last 10 years, as well as taught private piano and vocal lessons for the last 7.
I strongly believe that every student should have a foundation in proper technique, but every lesson should be an opportunity to have fun and learn as much as you can!

Janine is the most wonderful teacher! She is patient, kind, and so fun to be around. She knows so much about music and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge. I have been taking lessons with her for three years and look forward to it every week!

Janine is the best! I've been a singer my entire life but have always neglected learning how to accompany myself because I've always had other musicians to play the guitar or piano. When I decided I wanted to branch out and do solo gigs, I finally bit the bullet and hired a professional to teach me how to play piano. In a short period of time, Janine has helped me become more proficient with music theory that will help with improvisation at gigs, and I now feel confident enough accompanying myself on the piano for solo gigs!
She's very patient, which is such a help because I came to her literally not knowing how to change and voice chords with both hands!
I'd highly recommend Janine for both beginners, intermediate and advanced students!

Janine has been my piano instructor for almost 6 years now, and it’s been nothing but a pleasure. She has always stressed the importance of playing for the love of playing, and that it is important to be well-rounded as a pianist and practice the skills that make you uncomfortable. Coming from a mixed background of classical and contemporary, she teaches with a gentle but steady mindset that is rare in the classical world, and she has helped me immensely with breaking out of the classical shell to learn skills like improvisation and ear training. All in all I have had a wonderful experience with her and she is not only an amazing teacher but also a great friend as well.
