    About Jane B.

Jane is available for in-home, in-studio, and online lessons via Skype and teaches all experience levels. While she teaches primarily in the classical style, Jane has experience in all musical styles, including specializing in new music and extended techniques, as well as free improvisation. Jane’s goal as a teacher is to help her students gain the necessary technique and musicianship to succeed in whatever path he or she chooses. She is a very patient and dedicated teacher, always willing to go the extra mile to help her students reach their goals! Lessons are scheduled to best fit to the student's schedule when possible. Students must provide their own instrument, in good working condition. Jane recently graduated with a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. She received a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from Portland State University. She has played in master classes for Jill Felber, Marilyn Shotola, Carla Wilson, Ben Smolen, Alicia DiDonato Paulsen, Keith Underwood, and Ian Clarke. She has also performed for Laurel Zucker, John Fonville, Rachel Rudich, and Greg Pattillo. Her primary teachers include Dr. John Barcellona, Robert Dick, Dr. John C. Savage, and Dr. Sydney Carlson. *** Studio Equipment *** Stand, metronome, tuner, pencils. It is the student’s responsibility to bring all materials we are currently working on to each and every lesson, prepared to the best of his or her ability. *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide a metronome and tuner (although it is best for the student to invest in these materials as well); student must provide stand and other materials we are working on.
