Saxophone with Jakob M.

I am a professional saxophonist studying music education at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have been playing and studying the saxophone for ten years. In my time playing the saxophone, I have had the experience of playing the baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano saxophone. I am incredibly proficient at all four major saxophones; however, the tenor saxophone is my primary. Throughout my years performing, I have played at venues in Florida, Virginia, Chicago, and all around the Pittsburgh area. Some of my most notable performances include the National Navy Saxophone Symposium, the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 8 festival, the Lexus Club at PNC Park, and Disneyworld. Additionally, I am the band leader for my jazz quartet, "Intrinsic Jazz," and we have played several gigs around the Pittsburgh area. At Duquesne, I am a member of the Duquesne Wind Symphony. This is a nationally recognized ensemble famous for its breathtaking performances. I am also a member of the Duquesne University Saxophone Quartet. This quartet is comprised of the best saxophones in the Mary Pappert School of Music saxophone studio. My playing and musicianship have been sculpted by some of the world's most premier saxophonists and composers such as James Houlik, Dr. Keith Young, and Mike Tomaro. Through these teachers, I have grown immensely as a saxophonist and as a musician and it is my goal to help other saxophonists, just beginning or advanced, take their playing and musicianship to the next level.
