    About Jada Nycole E.

I am a professional singer, vocal and music producer, songwriter and recording artist. I graduated from The Detroit School of Arts and went on to obtain a Bachelors of Vocal Performance and Composition from Spelman College, becoming the first Spelman student to perform a senior recital of all original works. I have 10+ years of performance (choral, background and solo), producing and audio engineering experience. I teach vocalists and aspiring music producers/engineers from teen ages to adults. I am a classically trained vocalist with additional background in the Black church vocal tradition, jazz and R&B. I possess the ability to teach students how to sight-read music and charts at an advanced level across genres as well as how to transcribe music themselves. Music production and engineering are just as important to me as singing and will be taught with the same passion and excitement. I am well versed in Ableton, Logic and GarageBand and can energetically explore an array of production skills like smartphone music making, sampling and live-looping. As a vocalist, I have performed at esteemed venues across the country such as Carnegie Hall in classical vocal ensembles, jazz bands as well as a solo artist. I've placed runner-up in the Detroit Jazz Festival's Youth Vocal competition and performed as an opening act for artists such as Chrisette Michelle, Elle Varner, and soul legends Frankie Beverly and Maze. I have also recorded and engineered various EPs and albums of my own. As a vocal producer I am frequently supplying supporting vocals and vocal arrangements on the recordings of popular indie artists in my home studio. I am dedicated to teaching students to be themselves through music and find their voice and authenticity. My main genres of focus are R&B and Jazz––my love will never change! It is still important, though, to use Western pedagogy to strengthen technique and musical ability. This solid foundation will only make your performance in other genres better! I hope you will kick off your journey to becoming the musician of your dreams with me. I'll make it an enjoyable ride!
