    About Jacob N.

I recently completed my masters in cello performance at Manhattan School of Music. I teach privately throughout the tri-state area and I am also a teacher with the Harmony Program where I teach in larger classroom settings throughout the boroughs. This past February I was a guest artist and teacher at the VerArte String Academy in Arequipa, Peru. I have attended numerous music festivals such as Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA, the Banff Centre in Canada and most recently I was a fellow at the Alba Music Festival in Alba, Italy. I am also passionate about orchestral and chamber music. As a teacher, I hope to give students a strong technical foundation on the cello while also helping them to understand and appreciate the musical versatility of the instrument. I believe it is extremely important to combine technical and musical skills from the earliest musical studies. I am enthusiastic about teaching students of all ages and varying musical goals.
