    My name is Jake! I am from the Cleveland, Ohio area. I have a Bachelors degree from The University of Akron in Trumpet Performance and a Masters degree from Louisiana State University, also in Trumpet Performance. I have been teaching private trumpet lessons for about 7 years. In this time, I have worked with hundreds of students ranging in age and skill level, from beginners at the age of 10 years old to advanced college students. Every student is different and learns differently. As an experienced teacher, I believe we need to have a multitude of routes to the same destination. I also believe in the potential for greatness in every student. It takes hard work, but I am happy to guide your child to reach their full potential. The majority of my teaching is centered on creating a beautiful sound and making music.

    My daughter's first year in Marching Band was a success. She played trumpet for 4 years and switched to mellophone for Marching Band season. Lessons with Jake for both instruments helped her grow into a much more confident player. Jake is a great inspiration and teacher.

    My daughter has taken lessons from Jacob for over two years and greatly enjoys him as a teacher. Her musical ability has grown significantly under his guidance. He is patient and through as well as challenges his students to be the best that they can be. I would highly recommend him as an instructor.

    Kid's Orchestra

    Kids’ Orchestra is the largest after school music program for Kindergarten through fifth-grade students in the United States. Nearly 800 students from across East Baton Rouge Parish are enrolled in Kids’ Orchestra programming where they study an instrument, perform in an ensemble, and/or sing in a choir. I taught group trumpet lessons and I conducted one of the Wind Ensembles.
