Hi! My name is Jaclyn and I am a professional violinist who has spent the last four years performing in New York City. I have had the honor of performing as a soloist and a chamber musician in some of New York's most sought after venues including Steinway Hall. I have also performed in a number of pit orchestras including an off broadway production of Carousel. I am also a studio musician and have done a number of commercials. I work frequently with composers working on new classical music as well as with rock and alternative musicians. I bring my wide variety of experience as well as my passion for creative and collaborative learning to my teaching. I appreciate learning music from a more well rounded perspective looking at theory, history, and performance practice.

I am a Professional Violinist and I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from New York University. I have spent the last four years performing in and around New York City. I have loved working in a wide variety of settings as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestra member, studio performer and as a member of several rock and alternative bands. I also enjoy learning about music theory and history and feel they enrich the learning and performing experience.

My musical training began at the age of 5 and loved making music immediately. As a middle school and high school student I participated in school and community youth orchestras as well as several chamber ensembles. During my summers I participated in summer music festivals throughout the United States. As a student I also participated in all-county and all-state orchestras.

As much as I love performing, I also enjoy teaching and working in a collaborative setting. I challenge my students not only to perform at their best and practice diligently but to also think critically about what they are performing. This is done through score studies and research into the history of the piece and the composer. I also like to spend time with students making creative informed decisions about style and performance.

For a great many years I have struggled with performance anxiety and work well with students to develop mental and physical techniques to overcoming performance anxiety challenges to perform at their best.
