I am an experienced teacher specializing in vocal technique, acting and musical theater performance. I work with singers of all ages and experience levels who want to improve performance, vocal expression and range.

I am passionate about connecting a performer with the material and I believe that most stumbling blocks are the result of a lack of preparation, not a lack of talent. Confidence and individuality are key to a successful performance and I am here to make that happen!

For performers, all coaching sessions will start with a detailed discussion of the song’s music and lyrics before moving on to the notes themselves. This leads to a focused understanding of the song that will be meaningful and effective for the performer and the audience.

If growth, understanding and tangible results are what you are looking for--look no further! I promise that you will notice changes in every lesson, and walk away with tons of confidence.

*** Lesson Details ***
Each students receives a full set of vocal exercises to take home with them on their first lesson. We use those exercises daily and in every lesson to gauge progress and develop a strong technique. With the exercises as a standard, students are able to see rapid growth that can be more difficult to assess with more traditional teaching methods.

I know that ALL people can sing and I use this personalized approach in my lessons. Your voice is an instrument that requires practice and exercise, regardless of your level of experience. Your training starts with a vocal assessment and detailed feedback about your current strengths and weaknesses. I then work with you to develop a customized plan based on your voice and goals.

However, your voice is much more than just an instrument—it is a tool for emotional expression. This emotional component of singing can manifest in bad habits that function as coping mechanisms to avoid accessing “scary” feelings. I work with you to identify problem areas and fix the technical issues while also addressing the underlying emotional triggers in a safe and compassionate setting.

My goal is cultivate your technique and discipline to take you to the next level of your performance.

My daughter takes lessons from Jackie and she has been so helpful. As a vocal instructor, she knows her stuff of course, but I also appreciate her care for my daughter as a young performer, helping her overcome fears and work through insecurities that tween/teen girls can have. My daughter has grown in her singing and acting as well as her confidence. Jackie has been flexible when our schedule was tricky, and always instructive but positive. Definitely recommend!

Jackie is one of the nicest, most talented people I know. Though I haven't really taken any lesson with her, I have seen her once a month to see her sing for the past 10 months, and she is definitely one of the best people to take lessons with. I will be taking performance lessons with her, and I also think you should look into that if you can. Please do take lessons with her, she is awesome!
