My name is Jack, and I would love to teach you what I know! I've been playing musical instruments for the last 19 years. Starting with cello at 8 years old, i switched to guitar at the age of 12 and haven't set it down for the last 15 years! Along the way I picked up the bass and ukulele. I love performing live, writing songs with friends and composing music with sample instruments created from everyday objects found around the house. I received my A.A. in music from Santa Barbara City College in 2017, and went on to receive a BM in music composition from Cal Poly Pomona in 2020. I have been teaching for the last 5+ years, starting in person and then transitioning to online lessons since the pandemic. I believe that everyone is on their own journey through music, and as such I really enjoy catering my lessons to each individual student to meet their particular needs. For the last 2+ years I've been working as a composer and curriculum developer, developing interactive music courses. This experience impacted the way I teach and how I design my lessons in a big way. I would love to hear what you want to work on, what your goals are and how I can help you get there!

Jack is an incredible teacher. I have been learning guitar, song writing, and music theory for about 5-6 years with him and is still ongoing. He's very knowledgeable and passionate about music which I find inspiring. And I appreciate how patient he is while also finding ways to challenge yourself. I started out not knowing anything about music and nervous to dive into a subject I had no knowledge or interested in. But as I took these lessons with Jack, I truly believe that I've changed and advanced as an artist thanks to him.

I'm a current student of Jack's. In the beginning I learned advanced guitar chords and guitar theory from him. Later I expressed wanting to learn music composition since transitioning to learning music production, and now because of him I find myself becoming more and more comfortable with orchestral sounds.
Jack has helped me to stay passionate with what I do, and has greatly increased my understanding of music and made me feel more confident with my music. I initially felt less equipped because of my lack of knowledge of music theory and having a degree related to music, and Jack has helped bridge that gap.
