NY-based Adult Ballet Lessons with a Former Professional Ballerina.

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Strengthening Flexibility Balance Mobility Classes allow for the progression of strength, balance, and mobility. No dance experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome. Before Barre: Before barre begins, we will discuss how your body is feeling and any goals for the day. Attention is always given to ensure a proper warm-up. Barre: With a focus on proper alignment and listening to your body, we will work together at the barre to help you achieve your goals. Barre consists of set exercises, going through the classic ballet barre routine and making all adjustments necessary to your individual needs. Combinations are personalized to student's comfort level and ability will progress with time. Center: Center work is optional. Center is a continuation of the technical work from barre. Depending on the student's level and desire, the length of combinations will vary. Students should expect center work to improve over time.

I am a former professional ballet dancer, having danced internationally with Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Tivoli Ballet Theatre. I received my early training starting at 2 1/2 in my hometown of Philadelphia and moved to New York after receiving an invitation to study with American Ballet Theatre's School at age 15. I furthered my training after graduation in Toronto with Canada's National Ballet School. Since then I have danced professionally in Canada, Germany and Denmark. I am currently based in New York City giving private and semi-private ballet lessons.
