Violin with Ilia S.

Originally from Moscow, Russia, I studied violin since the age of 7, attended Moscow State Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory and Boston University (Master's Degree in Music), worked as a core violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for 19 years, taught my first violin student when I was still a high school sudent and the Moscow Consevatory Prep Division. I have taught students from their age of 3 to age of 90. My teaching style is scrupulously focused of good poster, strong bow arm technique, consistent intonation. I specifically love to work on students' musical memory and teach memorization technique. My violin teaching experience is 20 years of private lessons in greater Boston Area and in Knoxville/Oak Ridge, TN. I am a recepient of Oak Ridge (TN) Arts Council award for teaching in 2016.
