Ian learned my band's music and hit the stage without rehearsal! It could have been his deep knowledge of Latin music and musical training, or both. Either way, you are in for a treat of you get to work with Ian. He has the discipline, great sound and a friendly attitude. A very thorough and grounded musician.

Ian is a kind and patient teacher, a master of his craft and knows how to communicate musical concepts in a clear manner. I studied Cuban/latin music styles with him as well as theory and technique on the bass guitar. In regards to my latin music focus, the information presented is straight from the source, and he has a wealth of material to dig into. He provided the tools and perspective of a real working musician and tailored my lessons to my level of skill.

Ian Stewart is rare among artists: in addition to being a master of his craft, he is also a great teacher. While his knowledge of music is vast and deep, he excels at breaking information down for the student and teaching the aspiring musician how to practice effectively and efficiently. He emphasizes the importance of self-assessment so that, ultimately, the students can teach themselves. I recommend Ian Stewart highly.
