Hi! My name is Hugh, and I'm excited to meet you! I have been teaching private lessons since 2018, and have helped my students do a lot of things including: transcribing and playing a Max Roach drum solo, performing with a student-led world music ensemble, and even learning "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. I earned a Bachelor's of Music at Oberlin Conservatory, where I studied with the legendary jazz drummer Billy Hart from 2016-2020. I am a patient and encouraging teacher, and I seek to help students build on their strengths, as well as finding and balancing out weaknesses. I cater to your own individual needs and goals, so lessons can be as intense or laid-back as you like!
