Heidi spends most of her time in Guatemala teaching music to children and adults who live in a private children's home in San Bartolome, Guatemala, but she continues to accept new, online flute and piano students. She has had students in 10 different states and across the world, including Guatemala, Egypt, and China. Heidi's been teaching flute and piano since 1980. She has taught flute at Tarrant County College and New Mexico State University, and at the University of North Texas and Baylor University as a graduate student. For six years she was the Advertising Editor for the National Flute Association's "Flutist Quarterly." She founded the Albuquerque Flute Association with her flute teacher, Frank Bowen in 1984. She completed all but her dissertation at the University of North Texas for a Doctorate of Musical Arts in flute performance. She arranges music for her students and for flute choir. She owns five auxiliary flutes - an Eb flute, a piccolo, a bass flute, two alto flutes, and plays on a handmade Brannen-Cooper flute. She has had articles published in "Flute Talk" and "Emerson Flute Forum." Heidi is delighted to share her vast knowledge of music with her students.
