*** Studio Equipment *** Music Studio: Control Room and band room, parents can sit in on lesson *** Travel Equipment *** I expect my student to have their own guitar if that is their instrument {unless previously arranged} A pencil and staff paper, a bottle of water if they are taking vocal lessons and a wiliness to learn. *** Specialties *** When it comes to teaching, I am pretty much no nonsense. Right away we will get started on exercises in technique, key signature changes, chord voicing, arpegiation and scales. My goal is to equip the student with a full arsenal to be able to play pieces as well as hear and improvise in a solo or band situation. Another goal is to make the lesson less like work and more like fun. I cover at least 6 different styles of playing. As a guitarist I focus more on chord voicing, improvisation and cover rock, jazz, classical, funk, flamenco and other related styles. On piano, I primarily teach the student how to read the grand staff and rhythm, time values with note drills. We begin to move into the circle of 5ths and 4ths and teach pieces in their related key signatures, technique inversions, block chords, arpegios, scales, also in each key signature. I want to facilitate the student with as much knowledge as possible in the shortest amount of time. I also try to focus on areas of concern.
