Master of Music - Instrumental Performance (Jazz Studies)

Master the Bass with a World-Trained Musician! All Levels Welcome. Inspiring, Personalized Lessons.

I believe that curiosity and passion are the driving force behind learning how to play any instrument. From basic beginners to more advanced players, my approach to teaching the bass is based on developing your ear and a strong foundation on the instrument. Each lesson will be structured based on your personal goal and your musical tastes, making the process motivating, challenging, and, most importantly, fun. We will work on sound, tone, time feel ear training, technique, sight reading, and other tools I have learned through my experience at NYU, Berklee College of Music, and working as a professional musician. Let's make some music!

    About George K.

I am a professional musician and bass player with experience in music production and mixing. I graduated from New York University with a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Performance with a minor in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music. I am teaching and playing/recording music professionally in NYC while working on production and mixing projects. I teach students ranging in ability from beginner to advanced. My approach to teaching is trying to make it as simple as possible so my students connect with the material and the music in a fun and stress-free process. I teach my students in my comfortable home studio in Manhattan, or I can travel to the student's house for an extra charge. I work with singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and songwriters/producers from all skill levels and with a variety of musical goals. Some of the musical styles I regularly teach are Pop, Latin, Jazz, Funk, and more!
