Violin with Genny T.

I started my studies in Violin at age 8, with father, a music educator and a cellist. During my youth I served concert master of her city’s youth symphony (Batuta Bucaramanga). I looked after my father and wanted to be a teacher as well, so when I grew up, I went for a degree in Music Education in Violin at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (Colombia). Then I came to the United States, where I went to the University of Texas at Arlington for a graduate Performer Certificate in Viola under professor Catherine Forbes, I also like combining performance and teaching, so I took on a studio at Music and Arts and taught at 2 schools. After talking to Miami based Viola Professor Michael Klotz, I moved to Miami to further my knowledge on my instrument under his guidance. I started playing for the South Florida symphony but still wanted to teach so I can make an impact on my community and pass along my knowledge, Through the Miami Music Project where I teach kids from all kids of back grounds unified by the same kind of love for music that I myself experienced when I was their age.
