I am a professional musician, as well as being an experienced teacher. I play piano and flute, and sing, too. I'm a composer and arranger, and am currently on the composing team for "The Young and The Restless", the CBS daytime drama. I've earned 6 daytime Emmy nominations as a member of the team. After high school, I attended Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY for 2.5 years. From there, I transferred to Berklee College of Music, and graduated with a degree in Commercial Arranging. My principle instrument was alto saxophone. I've been playing, teaching and singing in the Boston area for many years. I taught at Berklee College of Music, the in Ear Training Department, for 27 years. This past year, I traveled to China twice, to help students prepare for their Berklee audition. I am married to a professional musician, and have 2 great kids, and a rescue dog named "Soybean".

Gaye is one of the best instructors that I have ever had! She starts with where you are as a learner, and presents material in ways that really stick. Gaye will make you work, but you'll come away a much better musician, having solidified a foundation to truly build on!

Gaye is an incredible teacher! Her online ear training course was engaging, interactive, well-organized, and highly effective. I tend to learn better in a live classroom environment, and so I was tentative about online coursework. However, Gaye creates an online classroom that is so versatile and engaging I never missed the "live classroom" aspect. She truly brings the online platform to life and makes wonderful use of the tools the online format can afford. Her lessons are accessible to every kind of learners. She had us singing, playing, listening, recognizing, and notating in every lesson. She holds her students to high standards and helped us to reach our goals. She gives in-depth, individualized feedback that made learning feel more one-on-one than most live classrooms could feel. Her lessons are well-organized, and build on each other in a very logical arch. Before long, she had us singing and notating things I never thought I could do! I hope to take as many classes with Gaye as I can.

Gaye is a fantastic teacher - she knows so much about ear training, the different methods and techniques, common difficulties, how to best approach whatever area you may be struggling with… To be honest, when I first started ear training, it felt like this big, insurmountable, anxiety-inducing obstacle. But now, with all the helpful tips, tricks, and techniques she taught me, everything feels much more doable, and I now have a lot more confidence in my ear training capabilities.
