Flute with Garrett G.

I am a senior flute performance major at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have participated in several masterclasses, the highlight being a one-week bootcamp with Mr. Gary Shocker. I learned that the most common mistake students make is overthinking and that results in our own actions being in the way of our sound. I took several lessons with the principle flute of the Fort Worth Symphony, Jake Fridkis. I imbibed multiple flute fundamentals during these lessons. My strategy as a teacher is to evaluate the techniques used by the students, and apply the fundamentals to enhance their natural abilities instead of putting every artist in the same box.
