Hi! I'm Fernando Farias. I've been teaching private lessons since 2005 and have loved helping my students understand a wide range of musical concepts, prepare for auditions, and ultimately becoming performers themselves. I went to a music magnet high school program and continued as a music major in MDC where I received first place in a school-wide composition competition. I've studied privately with many professional musicians of many styles as well as been part of multiple groups ranging from jazz, rock, classical,and reggae. I describe my teaching style as a well rounded mix of classical and jazz/pop philosophies with equal emphasis on reading, technique, ear training, and theory, which leads to my students being able to participate in a wide variety of musical opportunities including excelling in top tier music programs.
