Are You or Someone You Know Struggling with Time to Practice?

Most of you have heard that "Practice Makes Perfect" but the great football coach Vince Lombardi is credited with saying what's really true, "Only Perfect Practice Makes Perfect." And that is the key! Whether you are just starting out with your trumpet, trombone, or baritone, or you have been playing for a while and are struggling with consistency, range, and endurance, I can help! You are most likely just missing a few key pieces that will make your practice and performance as "perfect" as possible. I am certified with a proven brass teaching method that will have you learn just how to practice and what to practice in order to improve. You will develop your skill and play your instrument as effortlessly as possible within the forces of nature. If you're interested in having a great opportunity to play like a professional, and also have the time to take care of your homework, sports, band, job, family, and friends, feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to be of service.

    About Ezra P.

I've been passionate about brass playing for over 50 years and have worked with such recording artists as Barbara McNair, The Whispers, Barbara Lewis, and Gladys Knight and the Pips. Earned a BA in Music from San Francisco State University in 1973 and have been teaching brass since 1982. In 1993, I was certified as a Claude Gordon brass instructor in the last class that Claude personally taught. This certification covers all of the "cupped" brass instruments. This includes the trumpet, trombone, and Baritone. I provide a learning environment for all age levels. Kids can start very young, they only need to be able to hold the instrument and be willing to pay attention (that goes for the adults too). Students have said that I am one of their mor engaging music teachers (even sometimes funny) and I think it's because I really try to understand and help them overcome any musical challenges. My performance, teaching expertise, and success in overcoming injuries and bad habits from playing have provided me with a unique perspective on how to save you time while you are learning how to play like a professional. If that's of interest to you, feel free to contact me.

Ezra was part of our Music and Arts program at The Salvation Army in Marin. The kids loved him. He not only taught music theory but cleaning and care for the instrument. He had a wonderful way of allowing the kids to get involved with lessons by choosing a song they would like to learn. Great teacher! Great guy. I highly recommend him.

Ezra has been a great instructor for my 10 year old son learning trumpet. Ezra is funny, kind, punctual, and encouraging. Much of my son's success and confidence with the trumpet is owed to Ezra.

Ezra has been my trombone instructor for over ten years. As an adult who had never played an instrument, Ezra was working with a blank slate. He is a fun, engaging, knowledgeable and dedicated teacher that has given me the ability to enjoy playing music at my own pace. From music theory to posture, reading notes to understanding the feel, Ezra has given me all of the tools and motivation I need to gain skill and explore a new passion. I can now read music, play jazz standards and begin improvisation!
