Master of Music Orchestra

Master the French Horn: learn from an American and German-trained hornist!

Whether you want to start playing French horn on the right foot, move up to first chair in your school band, make an Honor Band, or get into a conservatory, I can offer personalized advice and feedback. I have studied French horn with some of the best teachers in the world and now I want to share that knowledge with you! The most important job a teacher has is to motivate the student. I offer plenty of encouragement, patience, and validation to make the student feel safe and secure in the lesson. I offer etudes, warmups, and exercises to develop the student's technique and musicality, but we will always have fun, too. I can't wait to meet you!

I have performed professionally in the United States, Austria, Germany, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. I have a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and I recently completed postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar, Germany. Regardless of where you're at now, I can offered targeted advice and helpful tips to get you to the next level. Having studied on both sides of the Atlantic, I have a broad view of horn playing and how to solve problems. In addition to perfecting your technique, we will also discuss phrasing, tone, and air support. Whether you are just a beginner looking to improve, a student who wants to be first chair of their school band or Honor Band, or if you have aspirations of attending a music conservatory, my lessons will help you get closer to achieving your goals. I am an encouraging and patient teacher. My goal is for the student to feel more confident and competent at the end of the lesson than they did at the beginning! I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
