I have been playing the horn for 11 years! I have an undergraduate degree in Horn performance and music education from the Eastman School of Music where I was also nominated for and won a Performance Certificate. I continued on to become the teaching assistant for the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) horn studio and taught undergraduate and non-major lessons while working to achieve my master’s degree in Horn performance and pedagogy. You can currently find me performing in the horn section of The Orchestra Now (TON), a training orchestra in the Hudson Valley centered around audience engagement, interaction, and innovation. This is my second year with TON and have been performing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and our very own, Fischer Center. I have been teaching privately for almost 6 years. I have started young beginners along with adult beginners, worked with middle school and high school students on district, region, and state band/ orchestra auditions, and helped high schools with the entire college audition process. I have also loved teaching at the college level in varying degrees. I have experience giving masterclasses at the middle and high school level, and have recently published an article in the Horn Call about my experience with commissioning a work for American Sign Language, percussion, and horn. I love giving chamber and solo recitals, and am familiar with a variety of repertoire.

We love Emily! My daughter is in 4th grade and started with absolutely zero horn experience. She has made so much progress in a few short months! Emily is an amazing teacher and is so kind and patient. We definitely recommend her.
