Flute with Elizabeth M.

I have a passion for teaching flute and piccolo to anyone interested in learning. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Flute Performance from Hofstra University, where I have played with the bands and orchestras, as well as various chamber ensembles, having premiered many contemporary works throughout my college career. I have experience playing in opera orchestras, as well as musical theater, and I have performed four times at the Long Island Flute Club Festival, with the Hofstra University Flute Choir. For beginner to intermediate students of all ages, I enjoy helping them explore classical music and improvisation, while working with the student to see what other styles might interest them. I can teach students to read music, and work music theory into our lessons to build a solid foundation for success. From audition preparation and NYSSMA or anything in between, I will tailor our lessons to fit the student’s goals. I believe in helping students to build confidence in their playing. Whether they want to pursue music as a career or are just looking to learn, students will see, and hear, themselves improving every week. I love seeing students develop a passion for music and playing, and I enjoy being able to give them the tools they will need to continue to flourish.
