    About Elizabeth B.

    A native of Mobile, Alabama, Elizabeth Bemis received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South Alabama and is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy at Shenandoah Conservatory. Elizabeth has performed extensively in collegiate and professional operatic productions and was selected as the Madame Rose-Palmai Tenser Developing Young Artist with Mobile Opera for two consecutive years. Her most recent roles include Gianetta in The Gondoliers, Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica, Gabrielle in La vie Parisienne, Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Elizabeth was recently featured as a soloist at the Kennedy Center’s Page-To-Stage Festival, premiering songs from new musical theatre. ​ Elizabeth enjoys working with youth and has worked with the select children's choir Mobile's Singing Children in preparing them for a Carnegie Hall performance. Most recently, Elizabeth served as the Musical Theatre/Choral Instructor at Levine School of Music for their Summer Musical Theatre Camp. A lifelong church musician, Elizabeth currently serves as Director of Music at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Centreville, VA, where she conducts the adult, children, and handbell choirs. She remains actively engaged in voice research, and has presented her papers at several conferences, including the Women in Music Conference, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and the Voice Foundation Symposium. Elizabeth maintains a private voice studio in Centreville, VA and loves helping voices progress and people find their vocal stride!
