Keeping music and technique in balance - Learn how to enjoy performing - Find your own highest potential - Fall in love with music
*** Lesson Details ***
I am friendly and like to inspire my students to find their own best potential. Suitable challenges are fun and needed to keep the personal progress going on. "No suffering in my studio!" means that the process of learning needs to be enjoyable but at the same time I am asking the students to give their best effort. Setting frequent goals in form of group classes and recitals keeps us in full sail and teach us to enjoy the act of playing both alone and in front of friendly audience.
I teach both classical and Suzuki methods. I like to keep my students musically well fed and encourage exploring music reading and music theory next to practical skills. I stir my students toward high standard personal level in their studies, an ingredient from Finnish cultural climate.
*** Specialties ***
Suzuki method and classical method, fiddling, beginning jazz, improvising

Thank you for all the help!

This year is my 9-year old granddaughter's first step in learning how to play a musical instrument and she chose the violin. We knew that music lessons would be essential to her learning to appreciate her violin. I searched the internet and reviewed several teaching sites before I discovered Elisa's site. After reading about Elisa's experience along with few reviews, I decided to sign Lia up. I found Elisa to be very caring, personable, skilled and professional. My granddaughter is very excited and very happy that she has Elisa for her violin teacher. I highly recommend Elisa!

Elisa is patient and encouraging
Ms. Boynton is a thoughtful and positive teacher.

Elisa is wonderful! She’s patient and fun. My granddaughter really likes her and looks forward to her lesson. She was playing songs by lesson #4.

Elisa was very patient with our three-year-old and made it a fun experience for him!

Elisa strikes that rare balance of being both kind and professional - you are comfortable yet know you will be progressing to a high level.

I have taught myself a couple of instruments but decided I wanted an instructor to learn cello. I've learned SO MUCH from Elisa, she's helped me understand parts of music that had never "clicked" with me despite 6 years of band in middle and high school.
I highly recommend Elisa!

I just completed my first lesson with Elisa. I felt so good at the end of the lesson. As an adult learner, I am often uncomfortable with my beginner skill levels and end up feeling embarrassed and apologetic when working with a teacher (silly I know). But she did not make me feel this way at all.
She quickly assessed where I was with my playing and identified quick and easy technical practices to enhance my technique as well as took in my own personal goals. I feel super motivated to practice and look forward to my next lesson with her. I'm so glad I found her!

Elisa has been great with my teenage boys. She is always prepared for the next step and has really picked up on what will inspire them.

Elisa is patient and willing to take the time needed to help explain something until the student understands.
I was worried about trying to renew a skill so late in life, but Elisa was encouraging and helpful.
I look forward to my next lesson!

Elisa is wonderful. She teaches very well and she is very patient. She provides lots of encouragement and she teaches many detailed violin techniques. My daughter loves her and her teaching style.

I think Elisa is amazing. My daughter learned excellent technique and was given many opportunities to perform solo as well as in an ensemble. Elisa has a great love of music and a natural gift for teaching and it shows in her individualized approach to her students. She is an excellent musician and teacher with infinite patience and respect for her students.

Elisa was very patient and understanding for our beginning violin player!

I retired 2 years ago and decided to renew my interest in the violin. I selected Elisa B. to be my instructor and I am still enjoying taking lessons from Elisa. She is an exceptional violinist and teacher. She is patient and encouraging. No matter what your age, I highly recommend Elisa. She is a wonderful person and gifted musician.

There are many websites that will tell you instructors don't like teaching adults, but Elisa was a wonderful and patient instructor for all ages. She is able to adjust her approach to accommodate all age groups and skill levels. It's important to let Elisa know what your goals are so she can mold the lessons to help accomplish your goals. Elisa also arranges group rehearsals and recitals to broaden the students abilities in group settings (optional).
