Hi! My name is Eli. I am a 21 year old from Virginia. I have been teaching for six years and my specialty is Music. I am a professional tuba player and have over 15 years of music performance experience. I have won a variety of music awards, including the John Philip Sousa Band and U.S. Marine Semper Fidelis for Music Excellence Awards, among others. In 2013, I performed as first chair tubist for the VBODA All-State Concert Band. I am currently working on my degree in Music Education at James Madison University. At JMU, I held performance positions with JMU's Symphonic Band and critically acclaimed JMU Brass Band studying under Mr. Kevin Stees. I specialize in brass pedagogy and music theory, and I am comfortable teaching any students up to the advanced level. I am also comfortable teaching any other instruments up to the intermediate level.
I am also available for lessons in Microsoft Office; I received my accreditation as a Microsoft Office Certified Professional in 2013.
Since 2012, I have been giving private and group music lessons to students of all age groups. Over the years, I have taught lessons in brass, woodwind, percussion and string pedagogy as well as lessons in music theory, composition and analysis.
In 2012, I had the pleasure of working with Grayson County Public Schools as a Student Teacher through the Virginia Teachers 4 Tomorrow Program. I taught elementary school students from ages 5-10. Subjects included reading, writing, math, science and general education.+ Read More
