Hi my name is Elana Lawson and I have been teaching piano for 3 years now and playing piano for 9 years. I originally taught myself how to play but I have found that when I took formal piano lessons it helped accelerate my learning and skills. I can now fluently play by memory, by ear, and learn advanced piano sheet music because of my teacher and I hope I can accelerate your learning like my teacher did for me. I teach beginner through intermediate students of all ages. The first step in my curriculum (if you are a beginner) is learning basic music theory, hand positioning, and rhythm. Along the way I will test your ability to memorize the sheet music and your ability to know the name of the notes you hear. I truly enjoy teaching online through Skype or Facetime because it's convenient for me and the student. I also come up with theory exercises or quick quizzes to make each lesson fun. I expect all my students to practice, practice, practice! I provide all the materials for beginner through intermediate students so you can save money.
