I have been playing guitar, singing, writing songs and making music for 30+ years. I am still learning! I have played in dozens of bands in a variety of styles all over the world. I bring a lot of real world experience to the table and can help you prepare to bring your voice and your music to the world. I am fluent in rock, folk, blues, electric or acoustic, country, etc. and am comfortable working with people of all ages, ideas, backgrounds, cultures, etc. No matter if you are brand new to the instrument or have been playing for some time, I am sure I can help point you in the direction that you want to go so you can make the music you want to hear coming from your fingers! *** Lesson Details *** Typically, I try to understand what a student wants and then tailor a specific plan for them. Often this incorporates learning songs as not only an example of how to play, but as well to understand the "why" of the guitar and how it sounds. It's important, I think, that a student enjoys the lessons and looks forward to what is coming next. Guitar certainly can be challenging but it doesn't have to be boring! *** Studio Equipment *** I have a variety of gear as needed to complement the lesson, the student should provide their own instrument. If you need help picking one out, I can do that. Getting the right instrument that you are comfortable with is important. There are lots of options out there and instruments have never been more affordable. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide all my own equipment, student should have at least a guitar *** Specialties *** In addition to how to play guitar, if a student wants, I enjoy branching out into teaching/coaching songwriting, recording, producing, improvising, ear training and basic music theory, and performance skills. I also can do some coaching related to music business, marketing, guitar gear, amps, effects, gigging strategies, and pretty much anything related to these subjects.

Ed is the best thing that has ever happened to my son's interest in playing guitar. His laid back attitude and authentic love of music has taken my sons guitar skills to new levels. Very grateful for Ed

My son Joshua has been taking lessons from Ed for a year and a half now and I can see a lot of progress in his playing. He is learning a lot but he makes it fun and interesting for him. I would highly recommend Ed.
