Trumpet with Derrick M.

Greetings! My name is Derrick Montgomery and I am currently the Professor of Trumpet at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. I am also working towards a Doctorate in Music from Florida State University. I have been teaching students of all ages for over 10 years working with students of all ages. Many of my students have won accolades as for their playing including college scholarships, placement in All-State and District Bands, and Superior ratings in Solo/Ensemble Evaluations. My approach to the trumpet is simple, produce a beautiful tone and the rest will fall in line. Much like learning to walk, speak, or drive, we do these acts unconsciously and easily, without thinking about it. I firmly believe that with practice, trumpet can be just as easy.
