Are you interested in getting started with learning guitar? Are you tired of trying teach yourself? Have YouTube and other free online sources not provided you with what you want? Have you taken guitar lessons that didn't really seem to help?

My first job with a new student is to understand what they are looking for in guitar lessons. Do you want to be able to strum songs that you like? Do you want to play lead guitar in a rock band? Do you want to play along with backing tracks or songs? Do you want to learn music theory? Do you want to enrich your life with playing music? Do you want to write your own songs?  I start by understanding what you want to be able to do with your guitar. I send new students a short questionnaire which they can fill out in as much detail as they want. I make sure that what I teach you matches your personality and learning style, and is geared towards your personal goals.

I have been teaching guitar for 20 years. I have played music since I was 10 years old (various instruments). I specialize in rock, blues, pop, jazz, and fusion. I currently study with Bruce Arnold. I have studied at Bekeley Online and with Chris Morrison, Hy White, and Tom Hess. I am enrolled in a an ongoing mentoring group for music teachers. I take the art of teaching seriously.

One of my main passions in music is teaching guitar. My approach is to focus on the student's goals and then to craft lesson plans around that. I enjoy working with students and helping them overcome obstacles.

I am a guitarist, composer, and teacher. I have been in the music field for over 30 years. In addition to electric and acoustic guitar I also play piano and keyboards. The styles I usually work in are rock, funk, blues, pop, jazz and jazz fusion.

I am always educating myself in music and teaching. I have studied with a number of excellent teachers including Bruce Arnold, Bill Bickford, Hy White, and Tom Hess. I have completed a 70 hour guitar instructor training course from Tom Hess, and I have taken a number of courses through Berklee Online.

I started teaching about 20 years ago, and during that time I have been part of a worldwide mentoring group for music instructors.I have learned from other music teachers all around the world and have crafted my teaching techniques with the support of that mentoring group.
