    With a bachelor's degree in music from Rutgers University, I began teaching guitar over 20 years ago. I have recorded with Larry Coryell and many other artists over the course of my career. My teaching style is direct and to the point. We will go through all the necessary theory of music and apply it to the fretboard to unleash your creativity. If you are looking to advance your style beyond what you thought you could not play, let's get started with some lessons. With certification on ProTools, I have recorded and worked with Jon Anderson(Yes), as a producer and engineer.     It's been a great experience taking lessons from Dennis. He is clearly very knowledgeable about the subject matter, and is very patient and clear in his teaching instructions. He also takes the time to explain the theory behind the instructions and strives to keep every session interesting and fun.

    Dennis makes you comfortable right away. Very easy to relate to. He moves at a pace his students are comfortable with. I look forward to MANY more lessons.

    Excellent Teacher Dennis is an all around great teacher. He is easy and comfortable to work with, but knows exactly how and when to get things done. Most importantly for me, Dennis was able to let me know which things I needed to work on to better my musicianship while also helping me figure out how to utilize what I had already accomplished to achieve new goals. As a metal player getting into jazz improvisation I had some really strong skills and many things that needed serious work. Dennis was able to help me use my strengths from previous experience to become better at something entirely new. Mindful of tradition, but more interested in innovation, Dennis has a vast knowledge of modern styles, chord progressions, chord shapes, and scales you can't just learn from any guitar teacher. You can hear it on his record; Dennis is just as much of an individual in his playing as he is in his teaching. Unfortunately due to relocation I can no longer take lessons from Dennis but he got the ball rolling for me into new worlds of guitar playing and musical thinking that has been incredibly valuable to me.
