I have been playing since I was a young child. I became interested in piano when my mother took lessons and I sat on the bench while she practiced. When she slid off the bench I slid on and just played what she had been working on so diligently. This began my playing by ear, which went into taking lessons, and learning to value the gift of ear playing and developing the skill of playing by note. So as a young adult, the day came when I was encouraged to teach. I began, and have never looked back. My piano students sense my calmness and lack of criticism, and it liberates them to play, make mistakes, and learn from those mistakes without fear of insult or impatience from me. I have taught piano for about 8 years, in addition to choir--elementary and high school, and taught hand bells, so my music experience is varied and lifelong. I love the lifetime I've spent being in music and I love to teach. I have taught students of all ages, young elementary through retired, and each one has it's special delight. I wouldn't trade one moment of my time with any of my students for anything that I can think of.
