    About Daniel M.

My primary goal is to make music a fun, stress-free, expressive outlet for my students. I hold a B.A. in Music Performance from Canisius College and have extensive performance and teaching experience in concert band, orchestral, musical theatre, and chamber ensembles. I have served as principal oboist of the Canisius College Concert Band and Canisius College Chamber Orchestra, as well as served on the faculty of the Community Music School of Buffalo, and the Canisius College tutoring center (as a music theory tutor). Currently, I am pursuing a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Oswego, specializing in emotional struggles faced by musicians, including performance anxiety, stage fright, muscle tension, and fear of emotional vulnerability. My students will gain confidence in their performance ability, learning not only the techniques of their instrument, but strategies to reduce performance anxiety to perform music as it should be: fun, expressive, and moving.
