    About Daniel D.

I am a professional trumpet player based in Brooklyn, New York. My formal education was acquired at Kansas State University where I received my Bachelor's degree and at the Conservatory at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where I received my Master's. While my foundation is jazz, I can be found playing a variety of styles around town. This includes mariachi, cumbia, salsa, funk, pop, and more. I have performed with artists such as Bobby Watson and Eugene Smiley and in locations such as the Blue Room at the American Jazz Museum and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. But my musical experiences extend beyond just performing. I also do studio work and I teach in both classroom and one-on-one settings. Currently, I am the adjunct professor of trumpet at Kansas City Kansas Community College. I cater my lessons to the needs and desires of the student. If a student wants to pursue a particular path in music, I give them exercises and repertoire that will help them along that path. No matter the age or experience of the student, we can work together to achieve the desired development.
