I am a career guitarist and musician with nine years of experience on the instrument. My primary goal with a new student is to make the process enjoyable and fun. This approach allows beginners to advance as much as possible with basic instruction, saving the less exciting aspects of musicianship to those who have become skilled enough to benefit from them. While I am capable of teaching beginner guitar techniques for a wide array of styles, my advanced experience focuses on blues, country, rock, and folk music. I teach flatpicking, slide, and fingerstyle techniques, improvised and constructed lead guitar, and basic through intermediate music theory. I do not provide advanced instruction in classical, jazz, or flamenco styles, or in advanced music theory. I do not use a musical staff to teach; students DO NOT need to know or learn to read music.
