I graduated from UNC-G with Bachelor of Music in Music Education. i studied piano and voice in college and I have taken necessary time to learn the organ and guitar as well. Teaching since 1984. Instruments that I teach: piano, voice (singing), guitar, and organ. The first step is to meet at my home studio and discuss your interest in an instrument. Sometimes during the meeting, students change their minds. For example, a student wants to play piano initially but switches to voice. You know what? That's OK. Just get started-don't put it off. If you really want to learn anything-you will find a way. It's that simple! I am from Greensboro and firmly established here. I 'm married with two teenagers. I am not going to quit on you! Just get going! *** Lesson Details *** I am laid back and patient. People (young and older) take lessons because they want to feel good. I will certainly encourage and guide you along the path. I use the Alfred Prep Course for piano students because it is easy and fun. I utilize other methods in my curriculum, too. You will learn to read music and be able to play piano pieces with both hands, if you consistently practice a little each day. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in my music studio: Young Chang/Pramberger 5' grand piano Three rank pipe organ with full AGO pedalboard by W.Zimmer and Sons, Inc. Classical guitar Large library of sheet music, resources, plus stands vintage recordings. Peavey PA sound system with quality microphones. *** Specialties *** Organ :David Glover method,; Harold Gleason method-no longer in print; Wayne Leopold Editions Organ Books. Singing/Theatrical Broadway Singing: Sight Singing book (white book); We sing from Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera Guitar: Hal Leonard Guitar Books 1& 2.
