My focus is as much on acting techniques as it is on creating and booking work, how to audition/self-tape, cut or edit footage and tapes, get a manager/agent, all the things you need to live and advance in this industry. Far too many teachers focus on the art alone and not the industry side of things. There is so much more than doing monologues or scenes if you want to succeed as an actor and avoid costly mistakes or lose precious time. I was classically trained in the UK at one of England's finest conservatories (East 15) for my MA, but I have and am still doing the work every day to stay out there, to book films, shows, and keep my name on casting director's lists. It won't help to take advice from someone who didn't do the work, or who hasn't done the work in years. The industry is changing fast. You want to be in sync with people who are keeping up.
