Claudie T. Morrisey (better known as Cj amongst his musical cohorts) has a unique way of analogizing music theory, chords, and scales for the specific needs of each student. Students grasp concepts with Cj in a way like none other. After working with Cj, students are able to showcase their skills in both larger and intimate sized recitals alike.

Cj has education in music theory and 16 years of experience in Classical and Jazz Piano including composing an original piece for the Fayetteville State Symphonic Band. He has worked as the pianist for the Fayetteville Jazz orchestra and as an accompanist for Fayetteville State University and various high schools in North Carolina. 

Cj has been recognized for his unique style in publications including the Fayetteville Observer.

Additionally, Cj produced an EP album entitled, "Mental Expressions" whereby other artists incorporate his tracks into their own performances nationwide.

For nine years, Cj played for a Funk Band as the keyboardist and performed around the country including events such as The Stone Soul Festival in Richmond, Va with crowds of over 15,000.

Cj's education and experiences allows him to play by ear or by sheet music to any genre of music while still introducing his unique style to the piece.

Hello everyone! My name is CJ. I have been playing since the age of 13 where my passion for music was exposed and expressed through keys. I play from a place of passion and I help students to find this same passion within themselves. Whether you have never played the piano or consider yourself an intermediate player, I will teach you the skills necessary to play through passion. Because I can teach students to learn from sheet music AND uncovering their "ear" for music, students leave each lesson with a sense of accomplishment and confidence in their potential.

He comes on time, never in a hurry to leave, very professional and patient and best of all my daughter likes him.

We are lucky to have found someone who is professional, patient and kind with my 5 yr old son.

My son took piano lessons with CJ for 5 years and I recommend him highly. He was great to work and reasonably priced. As our schedules changed, he was flexible and worked with us to ensure that we were able to continue lessons. Piano recitals were always a highlight to look forward to.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tutoring sessions with Claudie (affectionately known as CJ). Our sessions in Music Theory helped me to not only fully understand the practices and possibilities of music but complete and excel in all my Music Theory classes at Fayetteville State University. I highly recommend CJ for students of all ages from children to adults.

Explain the lessons, very patient, arrive to lesson site on time.  Very knowledgeable about the many aspects of learning to play the piano.  Enjoyable to work with.
