Piano with Clare H.

My name is Clare Hernández and I am a junior at the University of Dallas. I am originally from a small town called Dade City in Florida. I began learning the piano at age 7, taught by one of my older sisters. Every one of my siblings plays at least one, sometimes several, musical instruments, and the older ones helped to each the younger ones at first. All growing up I would perform at recitals, local musical competitions, and I would also accompany the choir at my church during services on either the piano or organ. Since 8th grade I taught up to 10 students weekly along with playing sports and my own piano lessons! I absolutely love teaching, and it is something I want to continue to do in the future, which is why I am in an education masters program at my University. I started teaching my little sister with Down Syndrome piano in high school, and soon gained another Downs student as well! It is an absolute blessing, and I would love to continue to teach children with special needs.
