    Learn To Play Bass

In addition to being an in-demand guitarist, Chris also regularly gigs around Dallas as a fill-in bass player for bands. In his lessons, he will teach you how to ‘find the pocket’ (and explain what ‘pocket’ is), the many ways to play the bass using both pick and fingers, arpeggios and how to apply them, and how to do ‘walks’ on the bass to take your bass parts to the next level. You’ll learn riffs like “Superfreak” to help you find the ‘pocket’ and learn the 1960s picked bass style that are on countless classic recordings with bassines like “Good Vibrations.” If you’re stuck just playing the root note (or you don’t know what that is yet), Chris is your guy. Chris also teaches the fundamentals of jazz bass, as well.

    About Christopher N.

Chris is a multi-instrumentalist who has been playing music his whole life and guitar since he was 13. Growing up, his favorite band was Fugazi, a Washington D.C.-based punk band and his obsession to learn how to play every song on all of their albums transformed into a deep passion for music theory and the underlying songwriting mechanics that made him love the music that he loved. During High School, he studied with Marty Tams of Limelight Entertainment in Phoenix, Arizona. During college, he performed in numerous groups with UNT Jazz majors where he was the only member of the group not in the music program. Since college, he has played in countless bands (often on extremely short notice as a fill-in) and always is looking for new musical challenges to take his unique brand of guitar playing-punk shredder spirit with a professional-level focus on best technique-to the next level.
