My goal is to encourage more people to develop a love of music. That means helping them play the music they want to play. It means learning how to make practicing fun. My lessons aren't just about how to play guitar, but also about learning how a guitar works. how they're built, so that as you get better and start being more discerning with what you play on, you know what you're looking at in a shop. My goal is to lay a solid foundation for you to build upon technically and artistically.

I've been playing guitar since I was 12 years old. I've been writing my own music since 2010. I'm a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the arts and have been living in NYC for the past 12 years after college. I am skilled in teaching new students and encouraging a love of music. I currently work with the Rockasorri program which places music teachers in school around nyc, so I can work with children and adults! My lessons are all about mixing the "boring" part of music (scales, exercises, etc.) with the fun part, playing songs you love and learning how you can express yourself with an instrument.
Using various methods, your students will learn the beat, rhythm patterns, accompaniment variations, and more. With song and tonal patterns our teachers will help children with ear training and melodic interpretation. And with movement your students will learn to feel the music from within. Our teachers are talented musicians who come prepared to sing and make music with your students in a loving and peaceful way.Show More
I've been playing and writing songs for my Acoustic Rock band "Norwood" since 2012.

Chris is such a humble and insightful person to learn from. Not only that he adjust the class based on students interests, he also covers crucial particulars in respects to musical theory, prior to each new song learning. Since January of 2019 I've been taking courses with Chris; my dexterity and rhythm are in synch. I feel more and more confident playing each new day. I highly recommend Chris for advanced as well as beginner students.Show More
Chris was so informative and patient, my first experience and I have to say he made me feel comfortable. Would recommend to others
Christopher is a fantastic guitar teacher. He's patient, friendly and very accommodating. I love that he has Taylor guitars to use during our lessons and how he teaches music theory while you are learning how to play your favorite songs.
Very knowledgeable and easy going. Knows his stuff and provides excellent materials to help you learn theory. Provides everything you need to help you learn and practice. Thanks Chris!
I was a total beginner when I started taking lessons with Chris. He made things really clear and simple and I was playing songs sooner than I thought I would! Great teacher, great person!
Chris is a wonderful teacher. I had no prior guitar experience and minimal musical education from a few piano lessons many years ago. Chris was able combine practical, yet impactful techniques which had us playing songs together after the first lesson. His adding some basic musical theory to each lesson has allowed me to better understand the guitar and provided additional texture to the entire experience. I highly recommend Chris for any beginner or experienced student.Show More
