    Professional musician with a gift for teaching offering private instruction with beginners who want to learn how to play the clarinet as well as advanced players looking to enhance their technique and soloing skills. Throughout our lessons, students will receive comprehensive instruction on the fundamentals of clarinet playing, including proper posture, hand positions, embouchure and breathing techniques. Beginner students will learn how to produce sound and basic fingering while advanced students will focus on tone production, intonation, and articulation. As our work progresses, we will delve into more complex topics such as music theory, ear training and sight-reading. Students will have ample opportunity for soloing practice in both classical and contemporary styles. Our experienced instructor has a wealth of knowledge that has been passed down through generations of musicians. They are dedicated to helping each student achieve their musical goals with personalized attention and constructive feedback. We welcome all ages and skill levels to join our clarinet class. Whether you're looking to perform at a professional level or simply enjoy playing for personal pleasure, this course will help you take your skills to new heights!

    Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Chris began playing music in grade school, and professionally at 16 years old. Taking advantage of the vast talent in Chicago, and later New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and North Carolina, Chris went on to study with Lou "Chip" Gdalman, Rich Corpolongo, Joe Daley and Mark Colby, and continued his formal education at DePaul University and the Bloom School of Jazz. He has had the great pleasure of performing with several great musical talents, including Brad Goode, Koko Taylor, G.E. Smith, The Drifters, Lin Halliday, Jodie Christian, and Phil Woods. Chris was a recurring guest artist with University of Louisiana Monroe Jazz Ensemble, plays with multiple professional groups, and with the orchestra and praise band at his church.

    PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of over 4,500 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The present membership evolved from a small group of band directors dating from 1933. Today, the organization includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, as well as those in the music industry, merchandising and publishing. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities.
