Cello with Christopher B.

Greetings. My name is Christopher. You may also know me as Kakophonix. I have been studying the cello since I was nine. I graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) in 2010. I completed my bachelor's degree in cello performance and music composition in 2015 at Baldwin-Wallace University, and am currently pursuing a master's degree in music composition at Cal State Long Beach. My musical foundation is extremely broad, spanning classical standards to heavy metal and everything in between. I believe in giving each of my cello students a unique voice, and that music universal is the language of freedom. As such, I hope to provide a strong foundation in fundamental technique and standard repertoire while also encouraging students to explore music that catches their own interest. In other words, I see it as my job to teach students how to make the music they want to make, and aim to give them the tools to turn their cello into a perfect channel for individual expression.
