I bring a composer and producer's perspective to my teaching. Rather than just teaching my students how to play a song or two, I help them understand how music works and how they can use the guitar as a tool for creative expression. To achieve this, I use a visualization-based approach that encourages my students to imagine the guitar as a conduit to notes and rhythms, as well as themselves creating and performing music. This approach engages both the mind and body in the learning process, resulting in a deeper understanding and connection to music. In addition to my unique teaching approach, I also bring my experience as a composer and music producer to the table. I understand the ins and outs of an array of instruments and arrangements, and I use this knowledge to help my students both improvise, and, if they choose, create their own music and recordings. Overall, my guitar lessons are focused on helping my students achieve their goals as musicians and creative artists. By incorporating my background as a composer and producer and using visualization techniques, I am able to help my students learn and progress in a way that is both effective and enjoyable.
