My name is Chris B. and I've been playing music for most of my life.
The best lesson that I've personally learned is that a musician is never done learning. Once you start believing that you know everything there is to know about your instrument then you've stopped growing musically. Personally, I've also learned that I enjoy sharing my knowledge of music with others and exposing students to new techniques and concepts.
I strongly believe that these traits are the most important aspects of teaching music to others. No matter how advanced my playing skills might progress, I’ll always be able to relate to any type of student because I’m still learning something new everyday!

Awesome first lesson for our 14 year old daughter! She’s pumped to continue with Chris, and we’re pleased with the entire process so far.
I have been taking lessons from Chris for 5 years. He is very open to learn and teach all styles of music. in turn, allowing me learn and play music I though i never would. His guidance in "the technology" of music is also greatly appreciated.
The learning experience with Chris is top notch, never an issue with communication or punctuality.Always able to move around his busy schedule for the "adult" student.
I want to thank Chris for allowing to find my "Soul Mustard" He is the best you can find
Chris is an awesome instructor! He was patient and professional. I was truly a beginner and Chris helped me every step of the way. I would recommend him to anyone looking to pick up a guitar or further enhance your skills. Thanks for all the help!
Chris has been a great teacher. He is incredibly friendly and by tailoring his lessons to my music tastes, he helped me progress much farther than I would have alone.
Chris is a great teacher! He makes you feel very comfortable. As a beginner player, Chris breaks down everything so you can easily follow. He is friendly and patient and I highly recommend him! He is the BEST!!
I've been taking lessons from Chris for 2 months now. He's exceptional in his teaching methods and makes each lesson enjoyable. I'm a beginner and learning my first chorded song. He's been excellent at taking his time and breaking the song down to where I feel comfortable playing.
He's easily reached by email, and has sent me audio files of himself playing the song we're working on to help me with my practice. I leave my lessons pumped and excited to play. I highly recommend him!!
I had my second lesson with Chris today. He's exactly the type of teacher I've searched for. He's very easy going and optimistic. I appreciate the fact he grabs his guitar and plays along with me, it makes learning rhythm so much easier for someone who learns by seeing and following along. I highly recommend him.Show More
Chris is an incredibly knowledgeable guy, an incredible producer and an incredible musician. An absolute master at his craft. Not too mention he is an all around solid guy, amiable, meticulous and professional in everything he does. I have gained huge strides with his tutoring. He is everything you can ask for in an instructor and more. I owe whatever skills and knowledge I have gained to his instruction and I have achieved far more than I could have ever expected under his tutelage.Show More
he was great
Chris does a great job. My daughter and I both enjoy his lessons. Always ends it with something new. And yes Chris we still practice every day!
he is really nice
I had a great first lesson. Chris tailors the lesson for the individual. He asked me what songs I wanted to learn and customized the lesson around that, so I can learn those songs first. I would definitely recommend Chris. I am a beginner and he keeps it simple and gives good direction. I look forward to continue lessons and see my progression.Show More
I had my first meeting with chris today. I was feeling a bit intimidated before i met him seeing all his credentials and experience. I need not have worried. He made me feel super comfortable and explained all the nuts and bolts of guitar on my level of understanding which is very basic. He was able to relay the lesson to me in a way that made so much sense, it just clicked. I left feeling very accomplished and very much looking forward to the next lessonShow More
Chris was such a great instructor! I first started lessons with Chris a few months ago and I told him I only had a limited time to learn guitar. Taking the knowledge I already had with music, Chris helped me in only a few months to pick up and to be able to jam to some awesome songs on my acoustic guitar. He is very patient and works very well with whatever level you come in as! I came in knowing only one or two chords, and now I know many more and can confidently play some songs! Since I was a crazy busy college student, Chris was also very flexible with when lessons were, which I was very thankful for! I'd highly recommend taking lessons with him!Show More
I love my lessons with Chris! I have no music background and have always wanted to play the guitar but never got around to making it happen. Now as I am older I think why not now?! I looked around for local lessons and found Chris's site. I loved his philosophy of how he teaches an individual based on what they want out of it! His statement of "some people just want to learn to play their favorite song" sold me! So glad I found him! It's never too late to pick up a guitar!Show More
My lessons with Chris were amazing!! Chris teaches at a pace that is manageable and you never will feel overwhelmed. The bast part about his approach is his ability to teach music theory and not make it boring or complicated. Chris is also great at changing the lesson plan on the fly if we stumble on to something to explore further. My guitar playing improved greatly under Chris and I would recommend him to anyone looking to take lessons.Show More
Chris was very professional. This was my first guitar lesson in years and he took the time to guide me patiently. I look forward to continue my guitar lessons work Chris.
My boyfriend said he loved it. Chris said he was catching on quick and has the finger strength already.
I'm looking forward to hearing more positive things about him and the next lesson.
Totally satisfied! I don't have a lot of experience with the guitar but Chris has made every lesson build on prior lessons so that I consistently see progress. He pays attention to what interests the student rather than focusing on what he necessarily wants to cover. He's reliable and punctual. Easy going, he communicates well.Show More
Had a great first lesson. Looking forward to next weeks lesson.
My first lesson was great! Chris was on time and very informative. I can't wait for our future lessons.
Worked with Chris for the last 9 months weekly, I was a complete beginner on Acoustic only having a small background on Bass 20 years ago. Chris came in with a formal plan that incorporated the important foundation concepts and practice strategies, all while ensuring that we used music that kept my interest in keep up my playing. He was very flexible, sometimes we jammed, sometimes we focused on concepts and technique - it was all dependent on the mood of the week, but he always came prepared for both. I *highly* recommend Chris, I look forward to continuing our relationship in the future.Show More
Chris was wonderful, what a great teacher, my boss is so excited to learn the guitar and felt very comfortable with Chris.
He's very friendly with young children. We had a positive experience. Recommend!
Chris is a great tutor to our boys, Lucas (8) and Nicolas (6). They are learning a lot and are very excited about playing the guitar. Chris is patient, calm and keeps they involved by teaching them songs of their interest. Chris is always punctual and courteous with us. We are his fans!Show More
Chris was great!! Very prompt. Our 9yo son could not stop practicing what he learned today!! Chris has a good strategy for teaching and explains it very well to both child and parent!
Chris is always on time, ready to go, enthusiastic and patient :)
This was Christa's first lesson ever and Chris was very patient.
I've been taking lessons from Chris less than a year (I think), and it has been a very positive experience. He is well-versed in many styles of music and has a excellent grasp of music-theory, which he is happy to share and apply to my style. I've been playing guitar for several years, and the fact that Chris will adjust his teaching methods to fit my style is invaluable.
On a professional-level, these lessons take place in my home, and Chris is super-punctual, and is never late, which helps with my hectic schedule. His communication is excellent, and he responds quickly to all messages via text and email.
Great experience. Great guy. Highly recommended.
I am a 64 year old woman who wanted to learn to play electric guitar blues lead. I have worked with musicians who teach and have been very disappointed. As soon as I read Chris' profile, I knew he would be a good teacher. I am a professional tutor and I could tell by the way Chris wrote about teaching that he would be skilled. I was absolutely accurate. Chris knows a lot about music and guitar playing, and he is also thoughtful and very present to the student. He is flexible and can move with a student who needs that. He also can work from a theory based place if the student needs that. To help me, he has written tab guitar licks for me, recorded Mp3 examples, and chord diagrams. I cannot speak highly enough about Chris as a teacher and highly recommend him.Show More
My daughter is 13 years old and has been taking lessons with Chris for approx. 6 months. She loves her lessons and she is playing all the time, he has wonderful patience and he teachers her the music that she likes, so it remains fun for her. Chris is great and highly recommended.Show More
My 17 year old son and I have been taking weekly in-home lessons with Chris for about 4 months now. Gotta say Chris is AWESOME. My son is picking it up super fast, he definitely has ADD - especially with music. Chris keeps right up, they are playing some Ed Sheeran, Eagles, Sam Hunt, Tyler Farr - all over the map and all both have a blast. I have been plugging along a little slower and Chris is very patient. We are working on some FGL, Parmalee, Logan Mize (Can't get away from a good time), Toby Kieth (Red Solo Cup), we even did a little Carol of the Bells around Christmas. I have a changing schedule and Chris is very accommodating - even up to last minute - which I really appreciate! IF you are looking for a flexible, dynamic, friendly, and fun instructor (his place / Skype/ your place) Chris is your man. Full Disclosure: I did not know Chris before I found him on TakeLessons. I am not receiving anything for this review. My son and I are simply big fans of Chris!Show More
Chris is a fantastic teacher. His approach to teaching makes sense and is very effective. My son is 10 and immediately had an excellent rapor with Chris.
Chris explained that he has several different ways of teaching and he tailors it to the child's experience and personality. Listening to him teach is pretty amazing. I want to video tape it and show it to the world. As you can see...we just think he's great!
I love taking lessons with Chris! He has the best way of explaining concepts and theory so that it is easy for someone like me, with no background in music, to understand. He's always professional, on time for lessons, and customizes my lessons based on songs I want to learn. Any student is lucky to have him as a teacher :)Show More
Chris has been giving acoustic guitar lessons to my 10 year old daughter for several months now. He is great at communicating with her and is very encouraging and patient. He chose very relevant songs for her that she really enjoys learning and practicing. Each week he builds on the techniques he taught her previously and we can see real progress! I highly recommend Chris!Show More
Chris has had a great impact on my overall guitar playing. I needed to improve my lead technique and Chris helped out in a way that wasn't boring or tedious. He used specific songs that I liked as examples for key concepts. Chris is also a great communicator and patient. I would definitely recommend him!Show More
