Dr. Chin Kim is an excellent teacher. He is kind, patient and detailed, and will work with you on a skill until you’ve mastered it. I’ve studied with him on-and-off since 2012 (I moved around a bit), and every time I go back to lessons, I improve exponentially. All levels of students, from beginner to professional, can learn a lot from him.
Highly recommended! The most insightful and kind teacher. I had learned so much from him and dramatically improved every aspect of my violin playing. I was very fortunate to have learned from him.
I was a student for over six years of Dr Chin Kim, from pre-college into my undergraduate studies. His encyclopedic knowledge of violin technique, repertoire, and history of the craft is unparalleled and still enamors me to this day. He is a masterful pedagogue who can offer students of the violin at all levels-even full professionals-access to unprecedented knowledge and understanding. I have since risen to be one of those professional products of Dr Kim’s teaching myself, with a graduate degree from the Shepherd School of Music followed by a tenure in the concertmaster pool at The Orchestra Now from 2016-2019-and I attribute much of this success to the knowledge and attention given by Dr Kim.
